  • During my full-time semester internship with LVCK, a Beyer Blinder Belle studio based in New York City, I worked alongside a small team of six designers specializing in environmental graphics, signage, print, and digital wayfinding. Known for delivering thoughtful, detail-driven design solutions, LVCK operates across sectors including higher education, healthcare, workplace, museums, and nonprofit organizations.

My role spanned several phases of the design process, from conceptual development to construction documentation. I contributed to placemaking strategies, signage programming, and brand identity applications for a range of environments. One of the most technically demanding and rewarding projects I worked on was programming over 2,000 signs for an NYU Langone Health building. This involved learning and applying SignAgent, interpreting established standards, and coordinating closely with my team to ensure consistency across a large-scale system.

I also supported design production for egress maps, marketing materials, and additional sign requests for projects in late-stage development. These tasks required careful attention to detail, especially when working within pre-existing brand systems. I became more confident balancing creative input with practical considerations such as fabrication methods, budgets, and architectural integration.

This experience sharpened my ability to think both creatively and systemically. It also deepened my understanding of how environmental graphics shape the way people move through and connect to spaces. More than anything, it reinforced the importance of design as a tool not just for wayfinding, but for storytelling, belonging, and clarity in the built environment.
